Geraldine Terry Champney

Geraldine was born in Hartford, Conn., 102 years ago. She moved to Florida in 1923. Married John H Gadway in 1940. After his death in 1947 she married Thomas Champney in 1949. Educated at St Anne Catholic School in West Palm Beach and the University of Miami, she was successful in many professions but her favorite was as a fourth grade teach in Homestead Florida.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Yenik (Mike) and grandchildren, Cary, Jay, Tom and Sarah Stallings; Joan G. Shook (Johnny, dec,) Joy G Payne (Bill, dec.) and grandsons, Nick, Luke and Daniel Payne; Janet C. Jones (John) and grandchildren, Bryan Jones, Adi McCauley, and Carly Lawrence; Hallie C Desilet (Bruce) and granddaughters, Crystal Desilet (Ash) and Amber Casey; adopted daughter, Kaze Gadway, Ingrid Gadway Clarke and grandson, Johnny Gadway. Predeceased by her son, John F. Gadway (Tantri) and grandsons, Jerry, Togi and Jacques Gadway. Geraldine also leaves 24 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lynchburg. Fr Jim Gallagher presiding.
