Born on November 1, 1956, in Bedford, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Forrest Kasey and Ellen Evans Kasey. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Kasey.
Glenda was a devoted wife, a lifelong learner, and a woman who found joy in both her work and her many interests. She graduated from Stanton River High School in 1975 and went on to attend James Madison University, where she earned her degree in history in 1979. Throughout her life, she held a variety of roles that reflected her caring nature and strong work ethic. She worked in childcare at Busy Bee Daycare, served in several private Christian temporary teaching positions, and held various retail jobs over the years. Glenda dedicated 25 years to Point of Honor and 14 years at the Visitor Center, where she enjoyed sharing local history with others. She later worked at Walmart, retiring in 2023.
In addition to her professional life, Glenda gave generously of her time through volunteer work at the VA Baptist Gift Shop and the Academy Center of the Arts in downtown Lynchburg. She had a deep love for cats and found great happiness in her many hobbies, including crafting, collecting cat-themed stickers, stamps, and coins. Glenda was also a devoted fan of Star Trek and was a proud member of the Heimdel Science Fiction Club for 36 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Daniel Wade Blanks; her sister, Lucinda Kasey; and her two nieces, Sara Welch and Grace Welch.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Lakewood Baptist Church, with Pastor Chase Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
