

Gregory Anderson Whorley, 62, of Naola, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Victoria Floyd Whorley.
Born June 5, 1947 in Lynchburg, he was the son of Nell Cockrell Whorley of Lynchburg and the late Buford Anderson Whorley. Greg was the owner & operator of the Campbell Avenue Chevron and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Greg is survived by his son, Gregory A. Whorley, II of Lynchburg; one sister, Betty W. Elliott and husband, Kenneth of Rustburg; three brothers, Michael A. Whorley and wife, Brenda and Daryl L. Whorley and wife, Rachel, all of Lynchburg, and Paul L. Dooley and wife, Sharon of Fort Lauderdale, FL and one granddaughter, Gabby.
A memorial service with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor J. Mike Dodson officiating.
The family will receive friends, following the service until 9:00 p.m.
