I first met Harold at Danville Technical Institute in 1967. The beginning of a 50 year friendship. We spent lots of time together riding motorcycles, playing softball, boating on Smith mountain Lake, riding horses and just having fun. We also joined the National Guard about the same time. Harold was the type of guy who would do anything to help out a friend. As we got older and we both had families to take care of and we drifted a part. About 7 or 8 years ago I saw him a Post 16 American Legion. We renewed our friendship and continued to meet at Legion regularly. Harold left us on Friday Sept 7. I will miss you my friend RIP!

I'm so sorry to learn of Harold's passing. And my most sincere condolences to his family and friends. Although I had not seen Harold for many years, I will always remember fondly being a part of his fun loving circle in the 70's and 80's. RIP my friend...

We are so sorry for your loss. Harold was in the National Guard with my husband, JW Stinnett, and we used to see him often at the American Legion - on "his stool" next to his buddies. RIP, Harold. Fly with the Angels...
