Helen Alice Alderman

Born August 5, 1921 in Grayson County, she was the daughter of the late Emma Alderman and Joseph Hobert Alderman.

Helen retired from Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She always liked to travel many places whether near or far, short or long, she just liked to be on the go. She always said “Go while you are able because when you get older you won’t be able to!” Helen loved flowers. Helen was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church. She loved her church and many friends she made in her long life.

Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin; a nephew, Dwayne Alderman; and a great nephew, Richard Bartlett.

She is survived by a daughter, Helen Spencer; granddaughter, Kim Spencer; brothers, Roy Alderman and wife Ila Mae, Marvin Alderman, Ronald Alderman, and Danny Alderman; a niece Louise Bartlett and husband Elwood; nephew, Ricky and wife Joyce; many grand and great grand nieces and nephews; and special cousin and friend, Doris Johnson.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Centra Hospice for all their help at this time. Also a special thank you to Tara Clark, Great Lady!

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Rev. Curtis Walkup officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 1 pm.
