Helen Newcomb Barrett

Born in Forest, December 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Willie Edward Newcomb and Annie Ruth Hodges Newcomb. She was retired from the Presbytery of the Peaks and was a member of Brookneal Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Bryan Barrett and his wife Sharon of Chester and Jeffrey Barrett of Lynchburg; one daughter, Hope Barrett Beatty and her husband Thomas of Frankfort, Ky.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Barrett, Rebecca Ruth Johnson and husband Lee and Benjamin Gregory Barrett; her niece, Linda Ross and nephew, Michael Eric Newcomb.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. John Kidd officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
