

Born in Spartanburg, SC, June 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Norman H. Johnson and Grace Miller Johnson. Sloanie and her husband Sam founded Sam Green Vault Company in 1958 and she was very supportive of him throughout the years. She was a longtime member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church, past president of the Elizabeth Harvey Sunday school class, a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Women and a past member of the Fort Hill Women’s Club.
She is survived by two sons, S. Wiley Green, Jr. and his wife Carolyn and Thomas P. Green and friend Karen Kohuth all of Lynchburg; one daughter, Barbara G. Worley and her husband Robert of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Peyton Worley and wife Angela, Michael Worley and wife Angela, Beth W. Savage and husband Jeff and Sam W. Green, III and wife Robin and six great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to April Briscoe her special friend and caregiver for the past two years.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Fort Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Elizabeth Ecklund and the Rev. Janet Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Reception to follow at Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Monday, January 26, 2015 at Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
