Henry “Jack” Jackson Blankenship, 79, of Lynchburg, passed away, Thursday, April 17, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Barese Blankenship. Born March 5, 1935, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Henry Robertson Blankenship and the late Juanita Bolling Blankenship.
Jack was a retired computer operator for Babcock and Wilcox Corporation and a member of Rustburg United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Henry Jay Blankenship of Lynchburg, Teresa B. Scott and her husband Brandon of Lynchburg, Carl N. Blankenship and his wife Kim of Largo, FL and Ellen B. Molla and her husband Zaman of Escondido, CA; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express a special thank you the staff at Centra Hospice including, Alice Powell, Paula Hicks and Carla Kidd.
A memorial service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Rustburg United Methodist Church.
