

Born in Lynchburg, May 10, 1939, he was a son of the late Herman A. and Mary Farmer McGuire. He was retired from the Lynchburg Foundry and also is retired from his own business, McGuire’s plumbing. Horace also coached for many years with the Lynchburg Little League. Horace and Nancy have been active members of Thomas Road Baptist Church for over 51 year and for many of those years, Horace was very active with the bus ministry and also served as an usher.
In addition to his parents, one brother, Henry A. McGuire preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Ronald William McGuire and his wife Ruth and one daughter, Angela M. Arthur and her husband Troy all of Forest; six grandchildren, Heather Stoehr and her husband Clint, Krystal Dalrymple and her husband Luke, Cody Arthur, Casey McGuire, Camryn Arthur and Colton Arthur and two great grandchildren, Madalyne Stoehr and Collin Dalrymple.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Thomas Road Baptist Church, Pate Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Falwell and the Rev. Charlie Harbin officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
