Howard Thomas Irvine Sr.

He was born on July 5, 1940 in Alleghany County, son of the late Lucian Calvin Irvine and Mary Alice Irvine.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie C. Irvine; a sister, Betty Peery; and three brothers, Calvin Irvine, Lee Roy Irvine, and Donald Irvine.

Survivors include a son, Howard Thomas Irvine, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa D. Irvine; and two step sons, Kevin Dawson and his wife Margie; Jonathan Dawson and his wife Kim. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Gavin Dawson, Caleb Dawson, Colby Dawson, Heather Irvine, Howard Irvine, III, Michael Irvine and Chris Irvine; three sisters, Shirley Selby, Nancy Glover, and Mary White; four brothers, Pete Irvine, Ronald Irvine, Larry Irvine, Bobby Irvine; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 5 – 7 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Virginia Memorial Park with Reverend Buddy Braxton officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 3140 Chaparral Dr #106, Roanoke, VA 24018, or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
