

Born on December 30, 1963, in Sinton, TX, she was recently preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary Striegler of Texas.
Jackie passed from complications of pancreatic cancer and is survived by her husband of 27 years, David Almond; her daughter, Kelly Almond; her father, James Wolbrueck; her sister, Monica Crouch; her brother, Gary Gersbach; her nieces, Sarah Hejl, Elizabeth Steglich, and Grace Martinka; her nephew, Benjamin Martinka; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews, all of Texas.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and her master’s from Houston Baptist, Jackie spent her career in the field of internet technology, including her time at Lynchburg College and, most recently, Lynchburg City Schools. Jackie moved to Virginia in 1995 but remained a true Texan at heart.
She loved cross stitch, puzzles, genealogy, reading, curating elaborate vacations, and spending time outdoors hiking and camping. Jackie had many friends wherever she traveled. She loved her family dearly and was adored by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
