He was born in Lynchburg on May 9, 1952, son of the late Beverly and Bessie Gray. In addition to his parents, a brother, Junior Gray and a sister, Sandra Davis, preceded him in death.
He was retired from Central Virginia Training Center. Jimmy loved fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Luanne S. Gray; 3 children, Bru Norconk and wife Heather, Brooke Tymchyn and husband Chris, and Michael Purvis and wife Aimee; 3 grandchildren, Jaxson Tymchyn, Zoee Purvis and Avree Purvis as well as a special niece, Rena Hooss.
