
James Charles Hodgert, 75, of Rustburg, passed away, Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kathleen Marie Hodgert. Born July 15, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph Hodgert and the late Adeline Gatty Hodgert.
James was a retired lumber inspector for Taylor-Ramsey Corporation and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
James is survived by his two sons, Thomas Hodgert (Debra) of Rustburg and Jerry Hodgert (Donna) of Lynchburg; three siblings, Eileen Healy (Thomas) of Hapatcong, NJ, Raymond Hodgert (Janet) of West Palm Beach, FL and Gerogene Hodgert of Brooklyn, NY; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous friends, who he loved to enjoy a beer with.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Msr. J. Kenneth Rush, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
There will be no scheduled visitation hours at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their thank you to the nurses on the fourth floor of Lynchburg General Hospital for their loving care towards Mr. Hodgert.
