James Allen Kidd
February 12, 1946 – April 16, 2019

James Allen “Jim” Kidd went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born on February 12, 1946 in Lynchburg, a son of the late Attley Milburn Kidd and Genevieve Leslie Coleman. He was also the stepson of the late Curtis Coleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Iona Kidd Day and brother, Attley Milburn Kidd, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Woods Kidd; three daughters, April R. Kidd of Myrtle Beach, SC, Laurie Baugess and her husband Dalton and Leslie Householder both of Roanoke; three grandsons, Oliver Dalton Baugess, III, Luke James Baugess and Miles Bradley Householder; his sister, Elizabeth Kidd Royer and her husband Paul; three brothers-in-law and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jim was the founder and President of Kidd Insurance and proudly served his country in the US Navy. Jim was also an active member of his community. His past accomplishments included serving on the Lynchburg School Board and were on the Executive Board of Big Brother and Big Sisters.
A memorial service celebrating Jim’s life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Mead Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Hatmaker and the Rev. Keon Huh officiating.
The family will host a reception and receive friends following the service at the church until 8:00 p.m.
