James Larry Phillips, Jr., 43, of Rustburg, passed away, Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his residence. Born February 11, 1971, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James Larry Phillips, Sr. and the late Deborah Beyer Phillips.
James was a self-employed bucket truck operator and tree service engineer for James Tree Service. He was of the Christian faith.
James is survived by his children, Tayler Phillips, James Larry Phillips, III, and Eric Lowden (Brittany) all of Rustburg, David Lowden and Courtney Dodson of Concord; two sisters, Patsy Clark of Appomattox and Tanya Smith (Rick) of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Emily Atkins, Emberlynn Lowden, Levi Lowden, Kirsten Lowden and Brooklyn Skye; and five nieces and nephews, Jessica Clark, Sarah Clark, Tyler Smith, Jason Smith and Megan Smith.
A graveside service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Beverly Cunningham officiating.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
