He was born in Staunton on July 26, 1971, son of the late James W. Shifflett, Sr. and the late Phyllis B. Shifflett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Teresa Milliron and Cynthia McDaniel.
Jim was a retired painter who loved coin collecting and fishing. He also was an avid traveler and especially loved going on cruises.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Pam Shifflett and Stacey Shifflett as well as a nephew, William Rogers.
There will be a celebration of life for Jim this summer at his home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1701 Thomson Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
