Janet Dolores Aguilar

Born on March 17, 1942, in Fairfax, Virginia, Janet was the daughter of the late Clifford Russell and Clara King (Moore). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three siblings, Sandra Russell, Tommy Russell, and Nancy Ren.

Janet spent her early years in Virginia before moving to California at the age of 15. There she met and married Robert “Bob” Aguilar and raised two daughters, Vicki and Robin. For many years, Janet worked as a receptionist where she used her God-given skills to connect with people and keep things organized. She and Bob moved back to her home state of Virginia in 2006.

Janet loved nothing more than spending time with her large family. She could always be counted on to play a game, take a road trip, or simply chat on the phone. An extremely generous person, she helped many people through difficult times without a second thought. She was an amazing person who could light up a room and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Aguilar; her two children, Vicki Modzelewski (Bill) and Robin Curtis; her siblings, Denny Russell (Barbara), Cindy Priestley (Paul), and Jeff King; her nine grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Zachary, Danielle, Jordan, Nicholas, Alexandra, Vicki, and Tabitha; and her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at a later date.
