Jennie K. Grochowski

Jennie was born Jennie Sophie Kozlowski on June 10, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to her parents, Witold and Zofia Kozlowski. She was raised in Philadelphia where she met the love of her life Teofil (“Ted”) Grochowski, Sr. Married on June 14, 1958, Jennie and Ted had just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Ted and Jennie relocated frequently for his work and they enjoyed living north to south and coast to coast but had the most time in Forest which they considered home.

Prior to marriage Jennie had several careers of increasing responsibility culminating as a group manager within a Sears corporate office. Jennie had to cut short her formal education to support her family. This instilled in her a passion for higher education and lifelong learning for which she sacrificed much to ensure her children were afforded college educations. In her later years she owned and operated a retail business and had recently entered the real estate development market which provided her great joy.

Jennie is survived by her husband and sons Teo Grochowski Jr., daughter-in-law Sara and, granddaughters Sofia and Geneva; Roman Alexander Grochowski and Andre Grochowski all of Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, numerous siblings and her beloved daughter Lisa Marie.

The family will receive guests at Whitten’s Timberlake Chapel, Monday, July 6, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Burial will be private.
