John William Hamlett

Born March 27, 1934, in Charlotte Co., he was a son of the late Franklin Younger Hamlett and Gladys Mays Hamlett. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry G. Hamlett; and half-brother, Harry Foster Jr.

Mr. Hamlett was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center and attended Harvest Baptist Church.

Survivors also include a son, Robert M. Hamlett, of Lynchburg; a brother, Douglas Hamlett, of Drakes Branch; and two sisters, Carolyn Martin, of Midlothian, and Frances Webb, of Madison Heights, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Harvest Baptist Church, by the Rev. Earl Clarkson Jr., and the Rev. Mark Snowden. The family will receive friends after the service at the church, and at other times at the residence of Tim and Kim Ernest, 201 Connecticut Ave., Lynchburg, VA 2502.
