First off a wonderful loving and caring husband. A true family man. Would do anything for his wife and kids. Best friend anyone could have. I want to thank everyone. His family and friends. Our youngest place and little stuffed pumpkin in his hand that night and she gave him a kiss good night. He was still holding it when he passed. My husband always said it's never good Bye It's see you later. As we remember him, please let it be of the time that he was with us and not of the time that he is not. Remember the day that he first walked into your life. How he helped you through trouble times. He was my best friend, my rock, my love and my everything for 35 years. He will truly be missed.

Uncle John aka “Candy, big John, or dad” I will miss you and your laugh and you being there my entire childhood. You treated me like I was your own daughter and for that I’m always going to be thankful for you. You are a great man from your work ethics as well as the person you are. You always put me and my sister and LJ  and the kids first. You have always been  there on days that I was sad you would always  turn it around and I’d laugh. You always show me how work ethic should be . How a man should treat a women and You and aunt Laura show me what love will always look like no matter the ups and downs. I’m going to miss  calling you to ask for cheese balls or your famous fried potatoes. You made the best breakfast as well. No one will ever replace your food or replace you. Thank you for being there, thank you for loving me as your own. Thank you for all the laughs and smiles and the most fun Halloween parties. Thank you for being my dad. I will miss you so much. This isn’t goodbye it’s see you later

I'm so sorry for your loss,  I worked with John at VDOT, he was a hard worker and also had the biggest heart if you needed anything.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family. RIP my friend.

I can't believe he is gone and I'm going to miss him and I miss talking to him and I miss his food and more and I'm going to miss spend time with him 😭😞

He was good person and good uncle and I'm going to miss our ride and our talk 😭

I am so sorry of John's passing. John was a really good coworker, he taught me so much and he had such a good laugh. John came to my house after work and got my riding mower running so I would not have to use the push mower. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. John will be missed.

I will forever miss him. When I look back, I think about all the times that I wanted to impress him; but I already knew that he was already proud of me. I look at all the times of how he would always make people laugh, how this grand work of a man came into existance to show those that even a tough exterior can harbor a loving and caring man. He helped anyone; tried to spread joy where he went and did the best he could in making sure his loved ones were safe and happy. This grand man was my father.  I am happy to have been his son.
