Joseph Carderelli

Born in Syracuse, NY, February 1, 1922, he was a son of the late Antonio Cardarelli and Loretta DeMarks Cardarelli. Joseph was a US Army veteran and served during World War II, he was retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. He was a life member of the Campbell County Rescue Squad and a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Joseph Carderelli and wife Gayle of Lynchburg, Sandra C. Kramer and husband Scott of Forest, Mark Carderelli and wife Carolyn of Harrisonburg, Linda C. Mason and husband David of Rustburg, Rosie C. Boswell and husband Robbie of Lynchburg and Michael Carderelli and wife Sharon of Harrisonburg; one brother, Armond Cardarelli of Frederick, MD; one sister, Theresa C. VanCott of Columbia, MD; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

One sister, Rose C. Stagnitta; one grandson, Brian Carderelli and one great grandson, T.K. Carderelli preceded him in death.

A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Heerspink officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
