Born in Lynchburg, March 10, 1940, he was the son of the late J. Taylor Thornhill, Jr. and Dorthy Merryman Thornhill. He was the owner and operator of Thornhill Sales in Lynchburg. Taylor was an Eagle Scout at an early age and was associated with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was past State President and served on the Board of Directors of TPA. He also enjoyed bird hunting and was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisel T. Browe.
He is survived by two sons, Dr. J.T. Thornhill, IV of Columbia, SC and Bill Thornhill and wife Beth of Lynchburg; his Son-in-law, Chris Browe of Forest; his sister, Jane Mullins and her husband Bill of Fort Mill, SC, and five grandchildren, Graham Browe and his wife Hannah, Christian Browe, Jean Browe, Kate Thornhill and Will Thornhill.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Heritage United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Paul Baker officiating.
Private Inurnment service will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
