Joyce Ann Sprouse Bryant, 93, of Forest, Virginia, passed away peacefully in the city she called home, leaving behind a family who will miss her dearly and a lifetime of memories that will live on through generations.
Joyce was a strong woman in every sense of the word. She had a personality that could fill a room—and she was never afraid to speak her mind. She knew what she liked, what she believed, and how she wanted things done. She truly lived life on her own terms. Her faith provided a foundation throughout her life and brought comfort and strength through the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindy Tenner Bryant, as well as her son, Lindy Ray Bryant, and her daughter, Sheila Dawn Bryant.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marsha Bryant; her grandchildren, Kimberly Schindler (Richard), Tiffany Gelzinis ("G"), Travis Bryant (Tara), and Justin Bryant (Brittany); and her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Spencer, Harper, Declan, Aidrik, Laila, Titus, Judah, Levi, Bella, Bristol, and JJ.
For more than nine decades, Joyce experienced the joys and challenges of life, built a family, held firmly to her beliefs, and left her unmistakable mark on those around her. She leaves behind not only the people who loved her, but also stories, memories, and a legacy that will continue through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her strength, her independence, her faith, her sassy spirit, and—perhaps most of all—for simply being Joyce Ann.
Though her friends and family mourn her passing, they take comfort in believing that she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior and reunited with the loved ones who went before her.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Virginia Memorial Park with Pastor Travis Bryant officiating.
