Joyce "Nana" Krantz Leonard "NANA"

Born July 8, 1936 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late George Harrison Krantz and Minnie Elsie Gowen Krantz and was also preceded in death by three children, David Wayne Leonard, Cynthia Kay Baber, and Willie Stanley Leonard, Jr. Mrs. Leonard was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great- grandmother. She was a member of Penuel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Leonard is survived by three sisters, Barbara Pavek of Altavista, Delores Taylor, who was also Mrs. Leonard’s caregiver of Gretna, and Carolyn Thomasson of Hardy; six grandchildren, Wayne, Cindy Lynn, Teri, Jeri, Jamie, and Steven; a special great-grandchild, Rachel Leonard, who Mrs. Leonard raised as her own; seven other special great-grandchildren; her favorite Son-in-law, Richard Baber and his wife, Jacqueline; a special cousin, Deborah Miles and caregiver, Bonnie Wade.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2016 at Penuel Baptist Church with Pastor Carlton Gunter and Pastor Chuck Schooler officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the church and other times at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Wesleybury U.M. Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cecilia MacCallum for her wonderful care.
