
Judith Shirley Craig Burns, 73, of Waynesboro, died, Sunday, February 20, 2011, at the Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville. She was the wife of the late Harold Wright Burns, Jr. She was born, September 10, 1937, in Waynesboro, to the late Thomas Jefferson Craig and Anne Maude Mitchell Craig.
Mrs. Burns was a homemaker and a member of the Free Methodist Church of Waynesboro. She was also a member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Burns is preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Leathers.
Mrs. Burns is survived by two daughters, Sherry Chapman and her husband, Chris of Lynchburg and Tina Shifflett and her husband, Clif of Waynesboro; one sister, Betty Craig of Crimora; four brothers, Don Craig and his wife, Shirley of Verona, Gleason Craig and his wife, Jean of Levittown, PA, John Craig of Waynesboro and Tom Craig and his wife, Anna Jean of Huntington, WV; three grandchildren, Tiffany Chapman and Christine Chapman of Lynchburg and Tyler Leathers of Afton; and several nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
