Judith Anne Kennedy

Born on October 16, 1947, in El Paso, TX to George and Mildred Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Douglas Hutchinson. She is survived by her husband F.M. "Bud" Kennedy, her daughter Christa Morris (Jamey), her stepson Thomas Kennedy (Annette) and her grandchildren Marina and Madelyn Morris.

Judith grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and moved to the East Coast in her twenties. She met her husband, Bud, in Lynchburg, VA and spent over a decade flying their airplane to all four corners of the US. After an early retirement they bought a sailboat and circumnavigated the Caribbean. After 8 years of ocean adventures, they returned to Virginia following the birth of their first grandchild. Settling in Farmville, Judith made a name for herself with her craftwork. She was an amazing quilter whose creative custom work was highly sought after. She was also politically passionate, serving on local committees and working at polling facilities during election cycles.

A Visitation and Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 2-4pm at the Parrish House of Johns Memorial Episcopal Church at 400 High Street, Farmville, VA.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Rosemary and George Dawson Inn at 2012 Tate Springs Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501. The Dawson Inn is a non-profit organization that provides affordable lodging for patients and family members seeking care at Centra's Lynchburg Hospital.
