She was married to her best friend and partner in life, Michael J. Danos. They were married 40 years.
She is survived by 3 sons, Andrew M. Danos of Charlotte, NC, Ian F. Danos of Rustburg and Schuyler R. Danos of Lynchburg; her mother, Edith Cavin Torbert Barbour and stepfather, Owen Ray Barbour of Concord.;sisters Carolyn Danos of Concord, Freda Carson (Ken) of Lynchburg, and Sandra Workman of Gladys; nieces Heather Hiner (Chris) of Concord and Lauren Carson of Norfolk; nephews Seth Workman of Forest and Derek Workman of Gladys; and great nephews Caiden and Callan Hiner of Concord.
Karen was pre-deceased by her father, Albert Franklin Torbert and sister, Melissa Diane Torbert.
According to her wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Interment will be private.
