Affectionately known as Novak, Louie, or her personal favorite, Gaga by her granddaughters, she is preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Joan Novak, and one brother, Michael Novak.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Novak, his fiance Shanna Ray, and two granddaughters, Ameyah and Myasiah Novak, who held her whole heart. Also grieving her loss are 3 sisters- Cathy Motz (Brian), Theresa Novak, and Mary Thompson (Robert)- 2 brothers- Joe Novak (Barbara) and Matt Novak (Holly)- and a host of nieces and nephews.
Karen worked for many years at the Central Va Training Center, lending her heart to those with disabilities and special needs, and for several years caring for special friends Dylan and Nicki. For the last several years, “Novak” could be found at Brookville Middle School- doing announcements, supervising bus duty, and overall touching young lives. She loved her Bees, even after her retirement in 2023, still yelling, “Go Bees!” whenever someone mentioned them. For those who knew her, Karen was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan, had a great love of country music - especially Toby Keith - and loved sea turtles and anything turquoise. She was animated, boisterous, and fun-loving, her infectious laugh echoing throughout the room. She was the life of every party, and we will all miss her terribly.
A celebration of Novak's life visitation will be held on August 15, 2025 from 4-6pm at Whitten Funeral Home on Timberlake Rd. We encourage all to wear their Bees gear or turquoise if possible.
