Katherine Elizabeth Wade

Katherine Elizabeth Wade, 90, of Rustburg passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Rev. Herbert Howard Wade. Born July 11, 1928, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Sydney Hudson and the late Mary Elizabeth Tyler Hudson Hodges. Katherine was a retired operating room technician for Centra health and a charter member of Christian Chapel, where she ministered for many years. In addition to her husband and parents, Katherine was preceded in death by a son, Randy Wade. Katherine is survived by her children, Tamela Betty Daniel of Rustburg, Melvin Wade and his fiancée Thanh Smith of Lynchburg and Bobby Howard Wade and his wife Carolyn of Lynchburg; two stepchildren, Robert Lee Wade of Lynchburg and Ruth Ann Coleman and her husband Warren of Spout Spring; two brothers, Rev. Woody Hudson and his wife Lois of Rustburg and James Charles Hudson of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Sean Wade, Bobby Aaron Wade and his wife Jamie and Rhonda Holt and her husband Tim; three great grandchildren, Ashley Wade, Gabe Holt and Nick Wade; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2019, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Ray Triplett officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
