Kathleen Tyree Tyree Gibson

Kathleen Tyree Gibson, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at Liberty Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving and devoted wife of Ellis Junior Gibson for almost sixty-nine years.

Born September 14, 1930 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Daniel George and Callie Wade Tyree. She was retired from General Electric and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gibson is survived by her sons, Calvin “Hoot” Gibson of Lynchburg and Danny Ray Gibson and wife Dolores of Amherst; a brother, Richard Tyree of Rustburg; two grandchildren, Danny Ray (D.R.) Gibson, Jr. and wife Karen and Angela D. Gibson and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Gibson and Landon Gibson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Gene Orme officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
