
Born April 27, 1919 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Suzie Wilkinson Herley. Mrs. Morrison was a retired teacher with Holy Cross Regional Schools, where she served on the faculty for many years. She was a devoted member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Mrs. Morrison graduated from Holy Cross Academy and was also a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in Emmitsburg, MD. She was a former Chairman of the Ladies Charity and was a former Board Member of the Lynchburg Y.W.C.A.
Mrs. Morrison is survived by three children, Mary Eleanor Morrison of Burke, VA, Thomas A. Morrison, Jr. of Newark, DE, and John J. “Jack” Morrison and wife Merrie of Fredericksburg; a sister, Mary Frances Nardone and husband Henry of Westerly, RI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Paul Doyle officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the Rosary Service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
