Kenny was born on April 14, 1974 in Emporia, VA and remained a lifelong resident of the central Virginia area. He worked in the automotive and transportation industry, spending most of his career with the family business, Royal Automotive. Kenny was a 1993 graduate of Jefferson Forest High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was especially passionate about his Puerto Rican heritage and declaring number one grandchild status was a favorite cousin past time. His love for his UNC Tarheels and Washington Redskins was second to none.
He was the son of Sussie Wood and Howard Glenn Wood. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Lawson Glenn Wood of Bedford, VA; a sister, Mary Sue O’Bryant and husband Gary of Forest, VA; grandmother, Bella Portela of Roanoke Rapids, NC; five nieces and nephews, Jessica O’Bryant, Austin O’Bryant, and Carter O’Bryant all of Forest, VA. Eric Duncan and Wyatt Wood both of Concord, VA. Brother in law, Walter Wood and his wife Denise of Concord, VA and his mother in law, Margaret “Peggy” Wood of Concord, VA.
Kenny’s larger than life personality was matched only by his infectious laughter and a smile that brightened every room. No one will ever, ever bring the party like he did. He lived, he laughed, he loved and he left.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Kenny’s love for his nephew, the family requests memorials be made to Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center, c/o Shelley Andrews, 150 Linden Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503
