

Born in Hastings, NE, he is the son of the late Arthur H. Mace and the late Esther Walburn Mace Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Carl Mayberry.
Larry was a retired Master Chief from the U.S. Navy after serving his country for 22 years and he also retired as a nuclear consultant from Babcock Wilcox Company. During his naval career he served on the USS Triton during the first circumnavigation around the world, submerged.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Debra M. Shaw of Lynchburg, Denise M. East and her husband, Roy, of Evington and DeAnne M. Ayers and her husband, Wayne, of Madison Heights; one special grandson, Darryl Mace of Gladys; grandchildren, Robert, Michael, Lisa, Sara, Janice, Kim, Chris and Kathryn and numerous great grandchildren.
A viewing and short memorial service will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
