Linda Burley

Linda Leslie Sparks Burley, 58, of Rustburg, VA, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, July 29, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer, at her home. She was the wife the loving wife of Wayne Burley for 19 years. Born October 13, 1951 in Connellsville, PA, she was the daughter of Doris Sparks and the late Jack Sparks.

Linda was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School, Class of 1969. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Breakneck Church of God and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 247, both in Connellsville, PA. Linda attended White’s United Methodist Church in Rustburg, VA. She was a member of the Women of the Moose 1727 in Lynchburg, VA. She was also employed by J. Crew in Forest, VA. Linda’s greatest joys were her family and church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Wayne Burley; her mother, Doris Sparks; her sons, Lawrence Burley and wife Suzanne, Tim Burley and wife Marlana, Chris Burley and wife, Jackie; her grandchildren, Travis, Amanda, Aaron, L.B., Lucas, Tyler, Logan, and Chase; her sisters, Lenny Sparks DiMantova and husband Vic, Crystal McFadden, Jackie Connors and husband Bob, and Marlana Burley and husband Tim; her brother, Preston Sparks and wife Karen ; many loving nieces, nephews, cherished friends and her beloved dog, Phoebe.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 2, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Rick Magee.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m.., Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Wayne Burley.
