Lois Jenkins Rupert

June 30, 1943 – April 30, 2025
Obituary of Lois Jenkins Rupert
IN THE CARE OF

Whitten Timberlake Chapel

Lois Jenkins Rupert, 81, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Charlottesville, VA.

Born on June 30, 1943, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late William Preston Jenkins and Cornell Crist Magann. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Preston Jenkins; her grandparents, Robert Lee Crist and Annie Crist; and her loving aunt, Kathleen Crist Smoot.

Lois was a past member of College Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of E.C. Glass High School. Her favorite place of employment was Imperial Reading, where she formed lifelong friendships.

In her younger years, Lois was known for her love of roller skating, dancing, bowling, and shopping. Later in life, she found joy in playing bingo and made many cherished friends along the way. Everyone knew her favorite color was red—she even had several red cars to prove it.

She is survived by her brother, Gary Magann (Debra); nephews, Chad Magann (Allison) and Tyler Magann, whom she dearly cherished; and her great-nieces, Claire and Lainey Magann.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Evans and the nurses at Monroe Health and Rehab for their dedicated care.

A private graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Ed Vogt.
