Lois Stone Wilson

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints"(Ps.116:15), and so it is that Lois Stone Wilson, 84, of Lynchburg went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Westminster-Canterbury. She was the loving wife of the late Wyatt W. Wilson, Jr. They were married on May 5, 1947 and celebrated 59 years together.

Born in Franklin County, Virginia, October 26, 1928, she was preceded in death by her parents Harvey Stone and Annie Gibson Stone and siblings Arlene Stone Pullum, Eugene Stone, Milford Stone and baby Louise Stone. She is survived by three daughters, Linda McFadden and her husband Earl, Faye Carter and her husband Nelson and Robby Carey and her husband Earnest all of Evington; one son, Wyatt W. Wilson, III and his wife Gwen of Forest; seven grandchildren, Tommy McFadden and his wife Anna, Jimmy McFadden, Chris Carter and his wife Cindy, Stephanie McBride and her husband Kraig, Megan Epps and her husband Dean, Tiffanie Aguirre and her husband Rico, Erica Wilson; eight great grandchildren, Travis, Lindsay , Kayla , Jacob, Landon, Lausyn, Wyatt and Sawyer; three sisters, Melva S. Martin and Geneva S. Tucker both of Lynchburg and Gertrude Stone of Arlington; one brother, Cephus Stone of Lynchburg.

Lois was a nurturing, godly wife, mother and grandmother. She had many talents and worked at everything as working unto the Lord. She was a longtime member of Lakewood Baptist Church faithfully serving in the nursery for many years. She was gifted with a beautiful alto voice and was a devoted choir member. Her life was a living testimony of Proverbs 31: 25-30, "Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many daughters have done well,

but you excel them all.' Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest G. Carey Jr. and the Rev. Dan Manley officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the residence of her daughter Robby.
