Loren Edward Houck

Born in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles O. Houck and the late Alta Fellure Houck. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce A. Bruce, two brothers and one sister.

Loren was a self employed flooring contractor and a member of Greenmont Oak Park Community Church in Dayton, Ohio.

He is survived by one son, Jerry E. Houck of Lynchburg; two brothers, Chancey Houck and his wife, Frances and Charles Houck and his wife, Noreda, both of Gallipolis, OH; one sister, Lena Bell Clark of Hillard, OH; four grandsons, Adam Houck and his wife, Catherine, Anthony Houck and his wife, Jennifer, James Bruce and Joseph Bruce, Jr.; one great grandson, Noah Houck; his son-in-law, Joseph B. Bruce of Dayton, OH and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family prefers that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Greenmont Oak Park Community Church, 1921 Woodman Dr., Kettering, OH 45420.

A funeal service will be conducted at 11 a,m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Farhills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429, by the Rev. Greg King. Interment will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Dayton, OH.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Tobias Funeral Home.
