Born on April 15, 1932 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late John Jackson Walker and Bessie Garrett Walker.
Loretta was a member of Penuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Sue Catlett and a brother, Earnest A. Walker.
She is survived by a son, James H. Catlett, Jr. of Lynchburg; two sisters, Hettie Myers and husband Charles of Altavista and Shirley Delk and husband Richard of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 6 to 7 pm at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel and at other times at the residence of her son.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Penuel Baptist Church Cemetery, in Altavista, with Rev. Carlton Gunter officiating.
