
Lorraine Madlyn Donald, 82, of Lynchburg, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Hatmaker’s Residential Home. She was the wife of the late Edward Roy Donald, Jr. Born February 18, 1930, in Slatington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. German and the late Sophia Valora German.
Lorraine was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by one son and our brother, Thomas Mark Donald.
Lorraine is survived by one son, Michael James Donald and his wife Donna of Lynchburg ; two daughters, Ginger Lee Parker and her husband Randy of Staunton, Barbara Jean Booker and her husband Joe of Concord; five grandchildren, Thomas M. Donald of Hawaii, Cody Parker of Arizona, and Luke Parker, Jennifer Parker and Levi Parker all of Staunton.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held, 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. George Hatmaker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 7:30 p.m. The family will be traveling for burial at a later date.
Our mom was a peaceful spirit who loved the Lord. She had the gift of giving and was continually helping people out and blessing them. In that spirit, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Thomas Road Baptist Church Benevolent Fund or the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank the Hatmaker’s Home, Gentle Shepherd Hospice, Dr. Driscoll and staff, Dr. Vandewater and nurse Susan. Your love, care, and support will never be forgotten.
