Lucy Callahan Pribble

Born on March 9, 1925 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Matilda P. Callahan.

Lucy was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, as well as making quilts.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Allen, Clinton, Stratton, and Carl Callahan and her sisters, Matilda Parker, Ethel, Clara, and Mazie Callahan.

She is survived by her son, Tarry Pribble and wife Kayla of Altavista; her daughter, Vivian Greene and husband Marvin of Evington; her four grandchildren, Mickey Greene, Michelle Glidewell and husband Chuck, Curtis Wesley Rice and wife Dana, and Jessica Tilley; her six great grandchildren, Summer, Lindsey, and Brittney Greene, Madeline Tilley, Savannah and Elijah Rice; her sister, Janie Mason; her cat, Prissy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Schooler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Lucy’s residence at 6577 Colonial Highway, Evington, VA.
