

Born Sept. 23, 1919, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Otis Farr and Lila Mills Booth and was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ervil, Lyle, Roy, and Malvin Booth and five sisters, Gracie Nash, Hazel Goff, Susie Marsh, Ethel Harris, and Erma Booth. Luther was retired from Lynchburg Foundry, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post 16. He was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
Luther is survived by one brother, Henry Booth and wife, Helen, of Lynchburg; one sister, Ruby Ferguson, of Appomattox and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Phillip M. Waltz officiating. Interment with militray honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the funeral home.
