Born on January 29, 1932, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Raymond Campbell and Katie Sligh Campbell.
Lyle enjoyed life and loved singing karaoke.
Lyle was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores “Lois” Caruso and grandson, Christopher Campbell.
He is survived by his children, Bonnie Fitzgerald (Gary) of Madison Heights, Lyle Campbell Jr. of St. Bernard, La., and Wanda Lewis (Robert) of Titusville, Fla.; grandchildren, Shawn Ferguson (Kristie), Michael Ferguson (Kathy), Bo Ferguson, Justin Campbell, Brian Lewis, Tammy Lewis, Conway Lewis, and Tina Caruso; great- grandchildren, Carrie McBride, Cody Ferguson, and JayNathan Ferguson; and special friends, Tommy Ferguson, Mary Jane Abbott, Tonya Rosser, David and Dianne Stedman, and Gary Scott.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Lighthouse Community Center, 1310 Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
