Mable "Liz" Elizabeth Fitzgerald

Mable Elizabeth Banton "Liz” Fitzgerald, 76, of Lynchburg peacefully passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 surrounded by her family. Liz was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Leroy Fitzgerald. Born July 5, 1946 in Amherst she was the daughter of the late James O. Banton and Mary Elizabeth Massie Banton. She had attended Temple Baptist Church and she was retired from S&W Cafeteria. In addition to her husband, Liz was preceded in death by her two brothers, and one sister; her son Timothy Earl Fitzgerald. She is survived by her children, Darrell Wayne Fitzgerald, Ronald Lee Fitzgerald, Sharon Elizabeth Fitzgerald and her husband Bill Varble and Dorothy Marie Burks and her husband Todd; thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren who knew her as Nanna. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, November 28, 2022 at 1pm at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating.
