Hey mom!  Happy birthday!    I was reviewing pictures yesterday and had some of you and I in your front yard during one of our last visits. It was a nice memory. Also I saw some of the kids visiting you back in 2011 and 12.  Nice memory. Im uploading a picture of the first time you Greg and I came to southern Maryland.  Love you!

Missing my friend.  It's especially hard this time of year. We shared SO many fall memories.  I'll cherish each one forever.

As we all know, Gods love never fails. Not EVER, and neither does the love of a grandma like you. It's been a few years now and I always find myself thinking of you Gramdma. I often try to be very optimistic about things, and I would like to think that we should celebrate the fact that you are so very lucky to be by the lords side at this moment! I love you Grandma and I will forever cherish the memories we had together. I can't wait till I get to see you again!

I will always love you Grandma! Ever since the day u passed, I think about all the wonderful times we had together, I always think about our talks and times we watched movies together and all the Christmases we spent together . I know you look down at me from heaven, yet while I look at heaven waiting to see you. I have an angel watching over me, that angel is you! Thank you Grandma for the wonderful times you gave me.

My cousin just went to heaven and I was thinking of friends and family I had lost and Madeline came to mind. She was a sweetie.

Love you Mom!   We are visiting Greg for Christmas dinner. 2 weeks back I stayed at your place. I enjoyed the memories.  Miss you.  

My friend has MM and is doing well in an experimental treatment that is beyond what the medical community knew when you were sick.  I hope and pray we can end this.

Regardless, there will be a next problem humanity has to deal with. I know you are better off than those here - we'll join you soon and look forward to the Lords glory.   God is Love.

Hey Grandma, i miss you, i think about you, about all the great times we all had together. i think about how we played sponge bombs out in the back yard at your place, i actually went outside and started throwing sponges the day you passed, because it was raining. I think about you all the time. I know you can see me, i cant wait to see you. I know you are watching out for me. You have my back. Well, I know you are in a better place than this corrupt, broken world and you are healed of all your pain and suffering. I imagine you running through beauitiful hills and having the time of your life, along with Christ. I know you are in a better place and you are with Jesus Christ. i love you G-ma :) and i cant wait to see you

My Sister, 

Nothing compares to a sister. Not a husband, not a brother - nothing.  We were best friends. We talked every day, sometimes 4-5 times per day. Sometimes one of us would call the other just to say "What are you doing?" How does one replace that? It's not possible.  I miss Madeline every day, but I am comforted by my faith and in knowing that she is with the Father and I will see her again someday.

I adapted this for Madeline and it was read by Jared Riley, her Grandson, at the dedication of the memorial stone.  It is still as telling of how I feel today.

It's been a year since Madeline died and I still think about her and her final days everyday, several times a day.

Mom, 

It was a year ago today that you passed away.  The vacancy here is significant - I miss the calls, visits and family time and the “Hi Mom!” opportunities.  I know you are with the Lord and all His glory forever -  I take comfort in that.  I believe time diminishes or becomes irrelevant in Heaven as you are there for all eternity so the perspective of your passing is different for you than for me and those of us still living.  Even believing this, I miss you.  I know I can speak for my bride, Ann and our kiddos, Joshua, Ryan and Jared in saying the same for them.  I love you and thank you for guiding me in life and look forward to being with you and our Lord, Jesus Christ, when my journey on earth is over – I trust you heard me in your final hours and did as I asked.  Thank you.  I can only imagine how wonderful it is being in the presence of God.  We'll meet again and until then, I say a prayer in memory of you and your wonderful life!  Thank you for your bible and the hand written notes throughout.  I smile often as I study.  What a beautiful gift!

From our first meeting as beach neighbors, Madeline touched our lives.  Madeline was my Lucy and I was her Ethel.  We had many an adventure as I  I followed her creative, daring and humorous lead!  I even learned not to be afraid of the sewing machine!  When my back gave me problems and I re-learned how to walk, she "raced" me down the street to encourage me, despite her own serious health deterioration.  She brought life and colorful light and energy into the world. She so loved you, Greg.  She will never leave our sides.  God is probably re-doing the hues of dawn and dusk as a result of Madeline's suggestions.  When we miss her most, just look up to the sky and the brightest color will bring you closer to her.

Greg: I went to school with Madeline and was in D.C. after high school and knew her there. A bunch of us went to work in D.C. So sorry for your loss.

Greg:  We send our heartfelt condolences to you and the family. We fondly remember the happy times we shared with you and Madeline both in Virginia and in Stuttgart.  Our gang contributed a lot to the success of German-American Volksmarching in Baden-Wuerttemberg.  Pat often recounts the great trip she enjoyed with Madeline to Moscow and St Petersburg. Our thoughts are with Greg and Madeline's family during this sad time. She was a wonderful woman who taught me a lot about how to be a lady when I was a young girl. She was a dear friend to my mother, Beth and our family. She brought Doug into our lives and for that we will be forever grateful!

I was very saddened to hear of Madeline's passing.  I really liked her and admired her brave struggle against the cancer that finally took her.  I wish the best to Greg and his family through this sad time.

The world has lost a wonderful person, and I have lost a wonderful friend.  We were school chums, and even when we had our little differences, we still made sure that we sat with each other in the back of the school bus, which we called "our" seat.  Later, we were room mates in Virginia.  I loved that gal, and I want her family to know that I share their sorrow and am keeping them in my prayers.
