Born in Fayetteville, N.C., on June 11, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John Carmack and Janet Marie Randall. In addition to her parents, her son, Matthew Daubert, preceded her in death.
Marcia was a devout Christian, coming to salvation at the age of eight. She suffered from heart disease for 27 years and used her illness as a means of spreading the Gospel message to hospital staff and all with whom she came in contact. During her numerous hospitalizations at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, she was known for her kindness and Christian spirit to the many doctors, nurses and staff members who cared for her.
She was a graduate of Grand Rapids School of the Bible & Music, Grand Rapids, Mich., and attended Grace College, Winona Lake, Ind., and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Ark. She was employed in the Registrar’s Office at Liberty University, Lynchburg, and other offices for 25 years before she retired. She also served as the Early Childhood Director at Shadow Mountain Community Church, El Cajon, Calif.
Marcia was known for her cheerful, encouraging and generous disposition, her love of children, and especially her love and devotion for her family, friends and church community. She founded the Connections Café coffee ministry at Hyland Heights Baptist Church, Rustburg, and served in various youth ministries there, including Vacation Bible School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Markus Lee Daubert and Michael Allen Daubert and his wife Christine Joanne Daubert, all of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Lucas Derek Daubert, Abigail Grace Daubert, Titus Andrew Daubert, Hanna Michelle Daubert and Rebekah Leigh Daubert, and one sister, Charlotte Howett.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in Oxford, Pa., where her body will be interred alongside her son Matthew.
