Born in Nelson Co., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Henry Proffitt and Cora Lee Martin Proffitt. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Margaret was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Winfall and a retired employee of Pearson Drug Store.
She is survived by three children, Dale T. Seesholtz and her husband, Jim, of Canton, OH, Phillip W. Thompson of Gladys and W. Stephen Thompson of Lynchburg; two sisters, Sadie P. Smoot and her husband, Edgar, of Madison Heights and Katherine P. Scott of Gladys; three grandchildren, Robbie Seeholtz, Ingrid Carbenia and Jason Thompson and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Winfall.
