Born in Lynchburg, March 25, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. Martin and Joyce Williams Miller. She was a faithful and wonderful wife of James L. Stanley for 46 years.
Mariea faithfully attended the Salvation Army in Lynchburg. She served as a Junior Soldier Teacher and was part of the Youth and Women’s ministries.
She worked at the Salvation Army as a childcare aid, Hope House staff and receptionist at Family Services at Center of Hope until her retirement in 2015.
She loved to read and do word search. One of her passions was to spend time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Harry A. Harvey, III (Becky) and William Jackson “BJ” Harvey (Holly); six grandchildren, Dezzaray Collins (Dave), Addison Harvey, Jackson William Harvey, Michael Harvey, Harley Harvey and Becca Mayberry (Austin) and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the staff at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab. and the nurses with Centra Hospice for the wonderful care and attention they provided to Mariea.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with CSM Wayne Wade officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 2215 Park Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
