Marion Drummond Tyree
May 6, 1934 – March 24, 2013

Marion Drummond Tyree, 78, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born in Altavista, May 6, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Drummond and Nannie Mable Hepinstall Drummond. She was retired from Babcock & Wilcox and was a member of the Lynchburg First Assembly of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dedicated and loving husband, Edwin W. Tyree, Sr.; one daughter, Nannie K. Dodgion; two great grandchildren, Ella and Allie Gardner and a number of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Edwin W. Tyree, Jr. and his wife Denise of Forest and Ronald B. Tyree of Lynchburg; one daughter Evette T. Bennett and her husband Vince of Vinton; her loving sister, Rebecca D. Wilkes of Lynchburg; 12 grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, Maggie and Mason Bennett, Angela and Jessica Tyree, Courtney Langlois, Jennifer Neas, Kelsey Clay, Tyler, Abbie and Travis Dodgion; seven great grandchildren and three lifelong friends, Janice Wade, Betty Fulcher and Shirley Snow.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Gene Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the funeral home.
