Obituary of Marjorie Carwile Parks
Marjorie Carwile Parks, 96, of Lynchburg passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at her residence. She was the wife of Emmett V. Parks. Born February 18, 1924, in Gladys, she was the daughter of the late Robert Brodie Carwile and the late Evie Lou Hunter Carwile. Marjorie was a retired secretary for a physician’s office, and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church on Wards Road. She was a 1941 graduate of Naruna High School (William Campbell High School), took a typing course in the 40’s, attended a career training school and took medical classes while in Mesa, AZ. Marjorie then worked for 10 years in an anesthesiologist’s office before retiring at the age of 65. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Terrell Carwile. In addition to her husband, Marjorie is survived by her two sons, Jerry Scott of Lynchburg and Stuart Scott of Tempe, AZ; one stepson, Gregory Parks of Coos Bay, OR; four grandchildren, Mark Scott, Dawn Utz, Bridgett Matson and Dustin Scott; five great grandchildren, Ashley Scott, Danielle Utz, Kacie Utz, Grayson Matson and Brinley Matson; and other loving family members and friends.
