Marlene Smith Robertson

Born in Rutherfordton Co., N.C., she is the daughter of Marvin Lee Smith and Hazel Nix Smith, both of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her good friend, Gloria M. Robertson.

Marlene was a member of Clearview Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Harrington Corp. after 37 years of service. She loved life, her family and her friends.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by three children, Richard W. Robertson, Jr. and his friend, Angie, of Lynchburg, Tammy R. Winnagle and her husband, Steven of Lynchburg and Sherry Campbell, her husband, Brian and their children of Madison Heights; two sisters, Jean Thompson and her husband, Michael, of Troy, N.C. and Phyllis Massie and her husband, Stan of Greensboro, N.C.; three brothers, Roger Smith and his wife, Patty, of Sody Daisy, TN, David Smith and his wife, Rhonda, of Lynchburg and Keith Smith of Lincolnton, N.C.; four grandchildren, Christina Coffman, Robert Coffman, Stacey Coffman and Rachel Robertson and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Clearview Baptist Church by Pastor Wayne Greene and Pastor Melvin Campbell. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
